The Extended LNA Training Program prepares adult students to pass the state exam required to obtain a license as a nursing assistant. The course focuses on the essentials for a nursing assistant`s safe and effective practices for care in a health care setting. Students will learn the basics of assisting patients, body mechanics, ethics and communication. Clinicals are held at Green Mountain Nursing Home. The Tuesday/Thursday night LNA class is designed especially for adults who have been out of school for some time, or who are still learning the English language. It covers exactly the same material required for all LNA training programs in Vermont, but the information is presented over a longer timeframe than most LNA programs, and it includes extra support and resources for improving math, communication, and general study skills. Payment in full is expected prior to the first class.

Day/Time:   Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 p.m., from October 10, 2017 until May 17, 2018. ¬†Mandatory Orientation is on Thursday, September 28 at 6 p.m.. ¬† No classes on the weeks starting November 20, 2017, December 25, 2017, and January 1, 2018.

Cost:   $1,350.00 (additional costs include a $130 testing fee, a $20 Nursing Board fee, and the cost of a background check)
