Intro to Computer Skills
Get comfortable using computers! This 6 hour hands-on course is designed for adults with little or no computer experience. Participants will learn to turn the computer on, use a mouse and keyboard, create and save a document, navigate windows and menus, and perform basic file management tasks. Includes flash drive with e-textbook.
Day/Time: Tuesdays, October 15, 22, and 29 from 6-8 p.m.
Intro to Internet Skills
Learn to use the Internet productively! This 8 hour hands-on course is designed for adults with little or no experience using the Internet or World Wide Web. Participants will learn how to browse web pages, find web sites using a search engine, evaluate online source credibility, create an email account, send and receive email, recognize and respond appropriately to sensitive information, gain experience filling out online forms, and develop keyboard typing skills. Prerequisite: Basic computer skills.
Day/Time: Tuesdays, November 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 6-8 p.m.
Intro to Online Learning
This course meets in-person and online to prepare students to succeed in taking an online course for career advancement, college, and other lifelong learning opportunities. This course is designed for adult students who already have basic computer skills but have no previous experience taking courses online. Prerequisite: basic computer and Internet skills.
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6pm-8pm. Meets in person Dec 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19; also meets online (flexible schedule) Dec 12-Jan 10. Meets in person 12 hours, online 18 hours (30 hours total).
