This 24 hour course will teach students to identify and interpret the GD&T Symbols and related drafting conventions as they are defined in the ASME Y14.5 2009 standard. Additionally, it should provide individuals who are engaged in the manufacturing and inspection process with the information that they require in understanding the design intent and translating it into the manufacturing and inspection process. Prerequisite: participating individuals should have a fundamental understanding regarding the interpretation of engineering drawings. Contents: Engineering Drawings and Tolerancing, Introduction to Geometric Tolerancing Symbols, Rules and Concepts of GD&T, Form Controls, Datums (Planar), Datums (Axis and Centerplane), Orientation Controls, Location Tolerances (Part I), Location Tolerance (Part II), Runout Controls, and Profile Controls.
